Winnie Odhiambo, the wife of Nakuru-based gynecologist James Gakara has been in and out of hospital following the death of her husband.
Njoroge on Friday revealed that Winnie has been in and out of hospital as she is still being overwhelmed by the death of her husband, Gakara and the killing of her two children.
“She is in good condition but the only problem we are having is that she is in and out of hospital. We take her back to the hospital when she is overwhelmed. But I would like to thank the doctors for coming to her house to check on her and assist where possible,” said Njoroge.
The spokesperson further revealed that family members are yet to come to terms with what happened and they need counseling.
Njoroge said the family is currently receiving counseling but he asked that the family will need further counseling even after the burial which is scheduled for next week.
“Winnie’s sister is also in shock following what happened. We have counselors who have helped them but we are also hoping after the burial next week the family will continue receiving counseling,” said Njoroge.
The Nakuru doctor, Gakara, who died on Wednesday while receiving treatment at Nakuru Level 5 hospital is suspected to have killed his two children, daughter and son, aged three and five respectively before allegedly attempting to commit suicide on Saturday.
