A video is doing rounds on social media this morning, of a semi-permanent house being literally carried across the road in Githurai estate, Kiambu County.
According to a caption on the video shared by the famous Skika Road Safety Facebook page, the owner of the house decided to cross the road and relocate to the other side of his farm, and he couldn’t afford to live his house behind.
Hundreds of locals are seen working in cahoots with the man to lift up the house and carry it across the road to the other side with bare hands.
It is yet to be identified the owner of the house and why he decided to relocate it.
The incident has sparked a lot of mixed reactions with many seemingly excited with the whole ordeal.
Well, lifting a house and carrying it to a different location is not new, but it is news to many Kenyans especially since it is rarely practiced in the country.
Some of those reacting to the video were wondering how the house in question was able to be moved around as it seemed old enough to collapse any minute.
A good number though, applauded the team work being exercised in the video.
