Witnesses say that Mbogo, who worked as a farmhand, picked a quarrel with his colleague after they disagreed on who between them should prepare supper, after which the accused took a kitchen knife and stubbed Mbogo repeatedly in the chest.
Anthony Muthike, who is a neighbor said he heard screams and rushed to the scene only to find the young man already dead.
"He had serious injuries on the chest and other parts of the body," said Muthike.
When the residents responded to the screaming they found Mbogo in the ground in a spool of blood.
Police officers in the area are holding the man who stabbed him. They arrested him on his hideout, and he is locked at Sagana Police Station for further investigations.
The body of Charles Mbogo was taken to Kibugi funeral home for further analysis. This bizarre incident has left the residents of Kirinyaga with worry.
We await for further information concerning the matter. May justice be served to the late Mbogo and may his soul rest in peace.
