DPP directs the inspector general of police to investigate the death of Daniel Musyoka

Daniel Ndambuki was an IEBC official during the recently concluded elections. He was a returning officer in Embakasi East.

Musyoka's disappearance was made public by IEBC chairman, Wafula Chebukati, on Friday, August 12 . Chebukati revealed that Musyoka went missing on August 11, at around 9:45am after he excused himself to make a phone call.

Musyoka's body was found dumped in a seasonal river in loitoktok with multiple injuries indicating that he was tortured before he was killed.

According to police reports, the slain officer was held in captivity for days before he was killed and the body dumped in a small forest. The fresh injuries on Musyoka's body are an indication that he was killed just a day before his remains were found as they had not decomposed.

The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) has ordered the inspector general of police to probe on the death of the IEBC official and submit finding in the next seven days.

The family moved the body to the Montezuma mortuary in Machakos. Family spokesperson Jackson Muimi said his brother-in-law will be buried in Mithetheni village, Mwala sub-county, Machakos County. Funeral arrangements are underway.
