Police officers from Kambu police post,which is in Kibwezi West constituency, have arrested a middle aged man from Kathekani village, who is said to have defiled his 12- year old girl.The man is now detained at Kambu police post as investigation continues,so that he can be charged with rape.
According to Kathekani area chief,Meshack Musyoka,he got the news from the girl's class teacher, who saw her with signs of pregnancy and interviewed her,when the daughter revealed that the said father,has been defiling her when the mother is away.Its after that,when the teacher reported the matter to the chief and the chief,went ahead to inform the police.
The girl was then taken to Kibwezi referral hospital for treatment and examination. The chief,has urged the members of public, to be on the watch out and report any case of rape in their community. He has also warned them against holding Kangaroo courts because they deny the victim justice.
