Agnes Tirop was found dead on her matrimonial home earlier this week where she lived with boyfriend Ibrahim Rotich. Beside her body was a large pool of blood. Her body had stab wounds on her abdomen and neck.
The committee planning for her burial which consists of family members, Athletics kenya officials and members of Nandi county assembly has been meeting all week long in her parent's home in Chesunet, Nandi county. They concluded that the burial will take place on Saturday, October 23rd 2021.

The perpetrator who is suspected to be her husband was arrested and now under police custody where he is expected to be arraignment in court immediately investigations are over to face murder charges.
Local leaders have urges Athletics Kenya to build a forum for athletes which they could use to address domestic violence which has been on the rise lately.
