The deceased identified as Tommy Mason, drowned at 11pm after the boat hit a hippopotamus and capsized. He was in the company of six others who managed to swim to the shore of the beach.
“It is unfortunate that we lost another man last night. We are mobilising Nyamnwa beach fishermen to help us retrieve the body,” he said.
The deputy chairman urged fishermen to avoid conducting their fishing activities during this rainy seasons.
The matter was reported at Amoyo area police station on Tuesday morning.
Amoyo area Police spokesperson, Samwel Kogo said the incident was reported at about 8:00m, Tuesday when the survivors came ashore.
Samwel said he deployed police officers to collaborate with fishermen in searching for the body.
The developments comes at a time when cases of people loosing their lives in the beach has notch higher in consecutive weeks.
