Police Officers Injured After A Lorry Rams into Their Truck On Thika Road

On Monday night two police officers were injured after a lorry rammed into their truck on Thika Road.

Corporal Geoffrey Sigolia and Police Constable Joseph Kiminda, sustained injuries. Kiminda's skull and right hand were ftactured.Sigolia on the other hand suffered an injury in the left leg.

The officers were implementing the dusk to dawn curfew order,were aboard a truck parked on the roadside at Allsops area,when their vehicle was ploughed into a lorry headed towards Nairobi from Thika.

Elias Mwaniki,the driver of the lorry said the lorry developed mechanical problem, leading to the accident.Mwaniki escaped the accident unharmed the two passengers however suffered minor injuries,police said.

The accident occured barely a day after another police officer was injured wile enforcing the curfew directives in Pangani.

Mwaniki is in custody waiting to be taken to court.He is being charged with alleged reckless driving.The two police officers were taken to Nairobi hospital for treatment.
