Police officers are holding three officers, including a presidential unit officer, who were arrested in Kutus area in Gichungu, Kirinyaga county, for allegedly abducting a woman.
While confirming the incident, Gichungu police commander Anthony Mbogo said the General service unit (GSU) officer based at Ruiru station and the other two officers abducted 36-year-old woman identified as Mercy Wahu, where they put her in a probox car.
According to the sources, the suspects then forced Wahu to accompany them to one of the local banks in the area to withdraw money.
However, Wahu raised an alarm that attracted the attention of the public and the officers manning the bank who nabbed the suspects and arrested them.
Mbogo added that the presidential unit officer was been sought following his desertion of duties since March this year.
Following the incident the public has been urged to be virgilant to avoid cases of abduction which has gone high.
