According to Kilimani Police Station OB No. 2/01/09/2021 recorded at 0152Hrs, a police officer attached to the General Serve Unit identified as Private Constable Bernard Kipgentich was seriously injured last night at around 2330Hrs.

The officer was coming from a bar where he had enjoyed himself in Kilimani around Sego area when he was accosted by several thugs who wanted to rob him of his valuables outside the establishment.
The officer resisted the efforts of the thugs to rob him and this is when they descended on him with crude weapons inflicting serious injuries on the officer.
The officer was cut up very badly by the thugs on his forehead, neck and between the fingers.
He managed to wriggle himself free and made his way to the Regional Police Headquarters where the officer on duty was alerted to the officer's presence at the gate.
The officer is attached to Nairobi State House and is said to be on his annual leave from his duties.
