The Director of Criminal investigations (DCI) has cautioned Kenyans against, shopping for goods online as they approach the festive season.
However, Accounting to DCI kinetic during a k24 interview he said that many people order goods through online marketing and end up getting goods of fake quality. He said that online marketing is holding a lot of scammers who stole from people.
"You are advised to be careful when making purchases online, by first ascertaining the identity of the seller and the address of their businesses,” DCI said.
Nevertheless, he said that most of the people who are concerned are ladies who further shopping for trendy outfits and jewellery, have fallen victim and lost their money through such frauds. He continued ad said that they should make sure that the business advertised exist before they order.
Resist the temptation to send money to perceived genuine dealers, who later turn out to be conned,” DCI cautioned. He said a lot of people have complained and have made reports of the same case.ⁿ
