While confirming the tragic news, Muhoroni Sub-County Police Commander said the attack happened on Friday night at Koru center.
"The attack took place on Friday night. We are still investigating what transpired," he said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased bought s stolen mobile phone from unknown member of the public last week Monday.
It is alleged that the phone was stolen from Muhoroni town, and later ended up being sold to the deceased in Koru, according to reports seen by the press.
It was reported that after the mobile device went missing, the owner sought intervention of telecommunications services and later traced to the house of the deceased.
Police said the deceased might have struggled with his killers before being beaten and stabbed to death.
His body was transferred to Ahero Sub-County hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Police have swang into action to arrest the suspects behind the gruesome murder.
