A sombre mood has gripped the family, relatives and residents of Chebirirbei Location in Kabianga Ward, Belgut Constituency as they finally lay their kin who was stabbed to death while in school.
Getrude Chepkurui, a first year student pursuing a teachings course in Laikipia University was on 29th of September stabbed to death by a person identified as Ezra. Erza, a 'bodaboda' rider stationed at Nakuru County had gone to visit his girlfriend who was Getrude's roommate.
However, upon reaching Peka Hostels, the 'bodaboda' man is reported to have found Getrude studying, with the former's lover writing exams. Ezra is said to have pulled out a knife before stabbing the innocent Getrude, killing her on the spot.
Several leaders including Belgut Constituency Member of Parliament Hon. Nelson Koech and Kabianga Ward Member of County Assembly are among those who attended Chepkurui's final send-off. Getrude has been euologized as a hard-working, disciplined and honest lass.
