Police officers from Muranga are currently investigating an incident that happened yesterday in the evening after two university students reportedly Drowned in one of the rivers while taking selfies.
According to the reports given by a reliable source of information, it has been revealed that the two slipped and Drowned in the river. Revealing what happened, one of witnesses said that the boy Drowned while trying to rescue the girl who fell into the river first.
Expressing her fear and concerns over the rising cases of residents who are drowning, one of the residents has called upon the government to close down the river.
"I would like to call upon the government to put some restrictions on this because in as much as we all like to have fun and take pictures, this is risky. This is not the first time this is happening, Alot of people have already died and In as much as I wouldn't like to say this, more and more people will continue to die or nothing is done about this. The government should do something about this as soon as possible because most of the people who have died here as university students who for one reason or another, love this place", she said.
While reacting to this incident, kenyans who took to their different social media accounts to express their opinions and suggestions on the matter have called upon the government to consider doing what the residents are asking for in order to reduce this cases.
According to the reports given by most Kenyans, they claimed that it was so unfortunate that the government often fails to do what is required of them until someone dies or rather, a tragic incident happens only for them to rush to the crime scene to fix the issue.
