Students of Nyakeigiro SDA mix secondary school, located at Nyakeogiro village, Nyatieko ward in kisii County, were shocked after a watchman at the school was hacked to death on Friday morning by unknown individuals.
The forty-two-year-old night guard identified as Eric Nyachiti ,was brutally battered to death after what looks like a tussle between him and the assailants.
Confirming the incident, Deputy County commissioner of kisii County Elizabeth Atemi condemned the act and promised that investigations on the crime is underway.

"We got a terrible report that one of our days secondary school government-sponsored Nyakeogiro secondary school is a mixed secondary school within Township division Nyatieko location, that the night guard was attacked by unknown persons and he passed on. So we got the information at 4 a.m. and we were able to respond to the scene and we confirmed that we had lost the Watchman. The police are investigating the cause of that incident," She said.
She further advised school's management within kisii County to enhance their security systems in this festive season.
"We are advising not only the management of Nyakeogiro secondary school but all schools,that they need to enhance their security systems ," she added.
The body of the deceased was moved to kisii referral and Teaching Hospital by police officers from Nyatieko police post.
