Sombre mood has engulfed a village in Mwingi Kitui county this is after a bus plunged into a river where over 19 people have been confirmed dead and 14 have been rescued from the tragedy.
The second in command has been saddened by the incidence and has sent condolences message to the friends and families that have lost their loved one and has also urged motorists to be extra vigilant this rainy season.
"Our thoughts are with the families, their loved ones and friends of those who have perished in a tragic accident in Mwingi, Kitui county. Sending our prayers and speedy recovery to the survivors. We urge motorists to be extra cautious especially now when we are experiencing heavy rains across the country," Ruto posted.
Earlier today a bus which was carrying Mwingi Catholic Church members lost control and plunged into a river which was full of water due to the ongoing heavy rains. Witnesses reveals that 14 people were rescued as 19 died on the spot.
Our prayers and thoughts to the families and friends who have lost their loved ones in the tragedy. We should be careful this rainy season.
