Police in Homa Bay are investigating an incident where a family fight left one 13-year-old boy seriously injured after being attacked by his father.
The lady together with her three children demanded to know why the man remarried two years after leaving her.
The man said that he had to get a companion after she left him. The lady felt agitated and assaulted the new wife that had replaced her. The man retaliated and acted in defence of the innocent wife.
It was then that the new wife shouted for help, saying that the lady was planning to murder her. The three kids joined the fight, assaulting their dad after taking their mum's side.
The man, who was overwhelmed, picked a machete and hacked the hand of one of his kids; a 13-year-old kid. The kid, whose hand was profusely bleeding, was rushed to Rangwe Sub-County Hospital for treatment.
For the fear of being lynched by perturbed local people, the man took to his heels. Police are in pursuit of him and have urged residents to provide any information that can lead to his arrest.
