Kasarani Road traffic officer Galaga Kalon confirmed the incident saying incident the motorist hit a woman and tried to run away at an incredible speed, before he swerved off the road opposite Total Kasarani and hit yet another woman.
The two victims were rushed to Ruaraka Uhai Neema hospital for emergency treatment and are curently in stable condition, according to police reports.
According to the traffic police officer, the incident, the vehicle was trying to overtake a lorry that was bags of rice to Thika town.
“The vehicle was trying to overtake a lorry headed to Thika town direction and the driver of the car tried to overtake in the narrow lane road that was busy. The lorry stopped by abit to allow it to pass and it was during this time when the car hit the first woman from the pedestrian side, veered off the road, and hit another woman carrying a jerycane,” said Galaga.
Police investigations are still ongoing as the wreckage of the car was towed to Kasarani Police Station awaiting inspection.
