Police in Kwale County have launched a manhunt for a primary teacher who is said to have attacked his wife before stabbing her using a kitchen knife. The 35-year-old man who has been identified as John Kemeu is a teacher at Mwenzamwenye primary school reportedly hit his 29-year-old wife Karen Namubuya with a hammer several times on the head. He went ahead to stab her on the chest on Wednesday night before fleeing.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the two suspected lovers had sperated but agree to meet and discuss their relationship possibly to mend it. The meeting was inside Kimeu's house where Namubuya had arrived for a talk. Surprisingly, the man closed the door and turned against Namubuya injuring her.
Concerned neighbours heard about the commotion and rushed at the seen to see what was happening. They forced their way into the house and found Namubuya lying in a pool of blood. She was rushed to Lunga Lunga Sub-county Hospital where she is receiving medical attention.
Mr Kimeu reportedly escaped from the scene and police are currently looking for him pending investigations and possible arraignment in court.
