A forensic expert at DCI’s Forensic Fingerprint Identification Bureau was assaultedans stabbed by Nairobi city thugs.
The officer is now receiving medical treatment at the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral hospital after he was attacked by armed thugs this morning at Kahawa West, in Nairobi.
Joseph Mwange, was going home aboard his car together with his wife from a party in Roysambu at around 4am, when a four-man gang blocked them along Kamiti road, near Jacaranda estate.
Masquerading as police officers, the robbers stopped down Mwange’s car and questioned where he was going to.
In response, he told them that he was going home not far away and they let him go.
But unbeknownst to the sleuth, the robbers trailed his car and as he made a stop to open his gate at home in Maziwa estate, one of them sprayed live bullets and shot him before varnishing into darkness.
His wife thereafter rushed him to Kenyatta University hospital where he is now receiving medical treatment at the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.
A contingent of detectives from three specialized units has since been deployed to trace for the armed robbers. Their time of apprehension is at last stages.
The Director of Criminal Investigations Mr Mohamed Amin, wishes officer Mwange quick recovery and wishes his loved kins lots of love from the DCI family, following the fatal attack.
