Investigations by police established that Sheila illegally logged into the NTSA account of PJ Dodhia Kumar 61, on the night of April 26th at 11PM at transfered ownership of the vehicle. The transfer of the vehicle was approved by NTSA at 2pm the following day despite lack of supporting documents.
Kumar's family through his wife launched complaints at Kitale police station that the suspect had taken possession of the vehicle illegally. According to the family, Kumar gave the vehicle to Sheila on use and return basis since she was his lover. Sheila transferred ownership of the vehicle four days after the tycoon died on April 22nd.
DCI officers traced Ms Wairimu to her Kitengela mansion where she stays, towed the car to Buruburu police station. The vehicle was transferred to Kitale police station where Kumar's wife had launched the complaint. Ms Wairimu was arrested when she followed the car to Kitale police station to try retrieve it.
In her defense, Ms Wairimu argued that she had no knowledge that the car's ownership had been transferred to her name. She realized this after she logged into her NTSA account. Wairimu has been charged with theft and obtaining Property on false pretenses, she will be arraigned in court on Monday
