'Shock as Headless Body of Bodaboda Rider Found In Rice Farm, His ID Card, Phone, Motorcycle Missing

The mystery over the brutal killings and dumping of victims in forests, rivers has continued to deepen in the recent months.

Residents of Gatuiri village, Kirinyaga County, are still reeling in shock after a decapitated body of a missing boda boda operator was found dumped on a rice farm.

The body of Eric Muriithi had no head and both hands were chopped off.

The deceased had been stripped naked and his ID card, phone and motorcycle were missing.

Muriithi went on missing on June 16 from Ngurubani, where he lived and worked.

According to reports, Muriithi was attacked and brutally murdered by armed assailants under unclear circumstances.

The assailants hacked the boda boda rider to death before taking his head and dumping it in the river, more than 15km from the crime scene.

One of the assailants led the police to the Rubingazi river, where he said they had thrown the head.

Police said that they are interrogating the suspect to help them with crucial information to arrest other culprits.

These incidents have raised questions over the security situation in the country.
