Residents of Meru County were treated to a bizarre incident after two siblings engaged into a fist fight over animal fat.
According to Police probing the incident, the man was murdered by his cousin over animal fat estimated to be worth Ksh.1,000.
Confirming the Tuesday incident, area police commander Alfred Ng'eno said the deceased ate the fat which his cousin had dried from cow meat and stored in the house for future consumption.
After arriving home and realising that the fat was missing, the suspect attacked his cousin and left him unconscious.
He is then reported to have dragged him into the house and left him to sleep and flees from the homestead.
The deceased later succumbed to injuries, with family members realising he had passed on Wednesday morning.
The body was taken to Meru Level 5 hospital mortuary as a hunt for the suspect who fled after the incident continues.
