Residents of Tinet ward in Nakuru county were this afternoon treated to a shocking and tragic occurrence. A 25-year-old lady is said to have murdered her 4-year-old daughter and dumped her in a pit latrine.
Upon interrogation, she said that the child was sick and that's why she decided to end her life. Suspicions on the whereabouts of the child forced her parents to question her where she admitted to having been done the heinous act.
Raising alarm, her neighbours thronged to the homestead baying for her blood. Please by others to have her arrested we're fortunately heard .
She was arrested and is currently being held at Keringet police station as investigation into the matter begins. She will be arraigned in court to answer murder charges.The deceased child was taken to Olenguruone mortuary.
Speaking to TAACH FM on live interview on Tuesday evening ,Keringet OCPD condemned the murder and urged the youth to consider better ways of solving problems. He noted that the woman in question could have been depressed and because if poor judgment, she went astray. He also lauded the locals for not taking the law into their hands.
"We feel sorry for the baby, I want to encourage the young generation to consider better ways of solving problems. Killing is creating bigger problems," he said.
