Road accidents have continued to rise over the decades. These carnages have been largely brought by reckless driving, overspeeding, drink driving as well as adverse weather conditions. This has often resulted in long-term injuries and loss of lives in extreme circumstances.
A 'Mololine' Public Service Vehicle (PSV) plying the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway was this morning involved in a fatal road accident near a certain flyover. The PSV that was ferrying about eight passengers is believed to have lost control before veering off the road and turning upside down. The foggy climate around Limuru, Kiambu County might have contributed to the carnage.
Several travellers are believed to have been injured in the road accident and needed to be rushed to hospital for urgent medical attention. No casualties have been reported, however.
Due to the rampant road fatalities, motorists have been advised to continue observing the measures stipulated by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
