Six Suspected Thieves Nabbed After Being Found With Stolen Mkopa Lamps In Bondo

Six suspected thieves were today nabbed by police from Bondo town, Siaya County after being found with stolen Mkopa lamps, according to police reports.

Bondo Sub-County Police commander Patrick Amollo who confirmed the incident said the suspect were arrested while making way through Guba area.

"We recovered two boxes containing 20 lamps and solar from the suspects. I believe the accused are a group of Matchete-wielding gang that had stealing from innocent members of the public in the recent past," Patrick said.

Their arrest were made by security officers who were acting on a tip-off from the M-Kopa agents.

The suspects are currently detained at Bondo town police station pending police interrogations.

Patrick warned the residents particularly the not to engage in criminal activities that would later land them into trouble.

He at the same time urged the area residents to work close with the police to ensure that crime incident are eliminated within Bondo town and its environment.

Their arrest brings to 40 the number of thieves arrested within the town in the recent past.
