Elgeyo Marakwet Agriculture officer Benjamin Sum has passed on.
According to the County Government of Elgeyo Marakwet Facebook page the deceased passed on after he was killed by bandicts.
"It is with deep sorrow that we announce that the cruel hands & bullets of senseless bandits have claimed the life of our dedicated Agricultural Officer, Mr. Benjamin Sum," the post read.
"The late Sum was going about his extension service duties to farmers in the valley, a job he did with passion, when the bandits ambushed him and took his life.
They described the deceased as gallant officer and a church leader.
"We send our sincere condolences to the families of the slain and we call upon our security agencies to mount a definitive & sustained operation in the area to weed out all the criminal elements in the troubled valley," he added.
Kenyans used his post to send their messages of condolences to the family amd friends of the deceased.
Godwin Kipchumba wrote "Ooh oh pole saana sum family.may Lord give u strength tu,"
Elkiki wrote "While Tolgos was dancing with Agwambo, Ng'orokos ran havoc and ended the lives of EMCIANs.Tolgos regime everything is hoax,"
