All Special Services Unit (SSU) employees, from corporal to inspector, are ordered to show up unarmed at IAU headquarters, which is housed at the KCB Towers in Upper Hill, Nairobi County, on October 21, 2022.
Some police officers said that the IAU thoroughly questioned them about their alleged role in the surge of extrajudicial executions after the special squad was formed in 2019.
Others responded that the IAU had not questioned the unit's commander despite orders from higher.
The SSU officers claim that the former DCI Boss George Kinoti has ties to robberies and organized crime.

Detectives have also found what they believe to be the belongings of the two Indian IT professionals who disappeared with their chauffeur, including clothing, belts and bones. This happened after more than a hundred police officers were dispatched to the Aberdare Forest to undertake the search.
