Njoroge said Winnie’s condition has improved after she was admitted at Nakuru Level 5 Hospital's HDU when she collapsed.
Njoroge however said the 29-year-old woman is still overwhelmed by what happed and she is yet to come to terms with what has befallen her.
“The doctor’s wife is okay. She is stable but is yet to come to terms with the demise of her children and husband,” he said.
Njoroge was speaking to Nation as he revealed the post-mortem on Gakara’s body could not take place today on Thursday.
Gakara is suspected of killing his two children, daughter and son, aged three and five respectively before allegedly attempting to commit suicide on Saturday.
The Nakuru doctor who was found unconscious in his Milimani home in Nakuru died on Wednesday while receiving treatment at Nakuru Level 5 hospital.
Njoroge said the post-mortem on Gakara’s body had to be postponed after they were asked to provide a sworn affidavit before the process starts.
“We came here in the morning expecting the post-mortem to be conducted but were sent away and asked to bring the documents. We were sent to court but luckily, we finished the process swiftly.” said Njoroge.
