Stop it if you Cannot Involve Your man, Activist Warns Women

Renown Kisii Human rights and Gender activist Esnas Nyaramba has advised women to stop making decisions without involving their spouses.

Speaking on Monday after a meeting with women where she synthesized them on why involving a spouse is critical, Esnas said many broken marriages are a result of failure to consult.

She attributed rampant cases of suicide especially in Kisii to frustrations from spouses who run family issues without proper consultations.

"Women I beg please when doing your thing involve your families more so when in marriage try and involve your spouse, respect them. Family issues should be handled and treated with care," She said.

Esnas Sentiments come few days after Kajiado East Member of Parliament Peris Tobiko's husband accused her of inviting Deputy President Dr. William Ruto to their home without consulting him.

About the case, Esnas said looking down upon a spouse when making some decisions especially public figure women can demolish a career one has built for years.

"As a woman, you cannot be a competent leader if you can not involve your husband in critical issues like the one we witnessed from Kajiado. I don't want to judge but such actions destroy your public image," She added.

The activist said this is not only for women but for men too. A happy family is a family that shares issues.
