Samuel Muchoki is known by her stage name as Samidoh, was born in Miloleni village in Subukia Constituency in Nakuru County in a family of five siblings. The entire extended family later on relocated to Ol Jororok constituency in Nyandarua county following the death of his father where he completed his secondary education before joining Kenya police force.

On matter of family and marriage, Samidoh is married to Edith Muchoki, a schoolmate in Ol Jororok secondary school and together they have two children. In his facebook page however, he has explained how distance almost made him to lose her. He has recounted that when he completed his secondary education, he tried his best to secure a job near his home but was unsuccessful, this made him approach the DC in Nakuru to help him secure a position in police force recruitment.

When he joined the police training in Embakasi, he explains that they were forced to minimise the communication from outside just as usual for the purpose of concentrating with the training. After about 14 months, they were now ready for pass out, what was surprising enough, she never turned out for a graduation.

When he went to check in to her, he was shocked to see she had already given up on him and she had moved on with another man. They however later sorted their differences, reunited and got married. He added that this inspired him to produce a song 'Ndiri mutwe mwega' which translate to, am not well mentally as there is no normal man who would do that. This was his first song that he produced in 2013 and since then he has millions of supporters.
