It is quite hard to focus on recovering when you are questioning yourself about what went wrong in your relationship. For some of us, it feels like we have to start over. But here are 4 steps you can take to ensure you come out on top.
1 Feel it to heal it.
When you want to fasten your healing process from past break-up, you don't have push your feelings aways. Allow the feelings to come and go like a wave. When you let the feelings into your mind, you will start a mindful practice of dealing with difficult emotions.
2 Channel your energy to something productive.
You do not have to sit the whole day thinking about your ended relationship. Learn how to channel your energy in activities such as going for a run, hitting the gym, jamming out to inspirational break-up music and getting creative paint pottery. When you channel your energy in various activities, the past effects of your ended relationship will be drained away.
3 Grieve the loss.
A quick step that will help you to heal fast is by accepting the situation the way it is and let it go. You have to grieve the loss, grieve the loss of the person, grieve the loss of the relationship and also grieve the loss of the image of what the relationship could have been.
4 Reflect the relationship.
Many people tend to forget about reflecting on their past relationships due to fear of being haunted by trauma of it. Reflecting on the past relationships helps you to identify your strength and weakness that might have led to end of your relationship. You must reflect on the things that worked in your previous relationship, things that did not work, what part you played in the relationship ending and forgive yourself. You have to figure out how you have become a better person since breakup.
