Here is why men get down on one knee when proposing to a lady.
Hello guys, have you ever asked yourself where this act came from? Going down on one knee to propose to a lady has been tradition for centuries and we have seen it both in movies and in real life. When we think about it, it's a strange tradition.
Why do we have to go down on one knee and propose to a lady?
Now this is how it all started. Ther were a group of people who called themselves Knights. They used to get down on one knee in front of their lord as a display of respect, obedience, and loyalty.
Also it was a common thing that usually happened in religious ceremonies.
So in those days, when a courteous gentlemen was proposing to his lady, pledging his allegiance to her and declaring his undying love for her, getting down on one knee was the only natural way to do it.
So going down on one knee to propose to a lady is just a very old way to show her your love and respect for her.
