A priest in Italy has left many people talking after he decided to put down his priesthood robes to get married to a woman he has fallen in love with.
Speaking to a congregation gathered in the church, during a mass session, Don Riccardo Ccecobelli could not hide his happiness as he shared his secret to the believers and other church leaders.
"I am in love and I want to live this life without taking anything away or sublimating it," Said part of the speech.
He confessed his love for Laura, a 25-year-old nurse catechist publicly while being interviewed by an Italian Media outlet. He went ahead to highlight he has never betrayed the rules of the church but he feels it's time he lived another life.
A Bishop who was present among the congregation was moved and thanked Riccardo for being honest and transparent while wishing him all the best in his new journey in life.
"I thank Don Riccardo for all the services offered to the church so far"
The priest is said to be head over heels for the woman and according to him, listening to her voice brings him Peace and Serenity.
The priest has already submitted his resignation letter and it awaits normal procedure before the final decision is made.
Well, we can't blame him. God is Love and Anybody who finds it has is spreading the Word of God, right?
