5 Main Reasons Why Men Usually Cheat In A Relationship

1. Immaturity.

If your boyfriend/man doesn't have a lot of experience in committed relationships and he doesn’t fully understand that his actions will inevitably have consequences like hurting his partner, he may think it is fine to have another relationship.

2. Searching for a new partner before ending the current relationship.

Men may want to end their current relationships, but not until they get another one lined up. So they set the stage for their next relationships while still in the current ones.

3. Lack of Knowledge between romantic intensity and long-term love.

They might misunderstand the difference between romantic intensity and long-term love, mistaking the neurochemical rush of early romance (limerence) for love, and failing to understand that in healthy, long-term relationships limerence is replaced over time with less intense, but ultimately more meaningful forms of connection.

4. Terminal uniqueness.

They may feel like they are different and deserves something special that other men might not. The usual rules just don’t apply to them, so they are free to reward themselves outside their primary relationship whenever they want.

5. Revenge.

If they are angry with their mates, they will then wish to hurt them. So they cheat to get revenge. They don't bother to lie or keep secrets about the other girl, because they want their partners to know about it.
