Prahlad Jani is an Indian man who was born on 13th August 1929 in Charada village, that is now known as Mehsana district. According to Jani, he once claimed that he left his home in Gujarat when he was just seven years old, and went to live in the jungle.
At the age of 12, it is believed that Prahland Jani underwent a spiritual experience and became a follower of the Hindu goddess Amba. From that time Jani decided to dress as a female devotee of Amba, he started wearing a red Sari-like garment, jewellery and crimson flowers in his shoulder-length hair.
Jani started believing that the Goddess provided him with water and food. Since then at just 12 Jani never took any food or drink. He believed that the goddess provided him with water which dropped down through a hole in his palate, which allowed him to live without food or drink for several decades.
In 1970 Jani started living in a cave as a hermit in the forest of Gujarat. Jani died on May 2020 at his native Charada.
