What The Bible Says About Tattoos and Beards

The Bible is the oldest book in the world. It is the the christians' trusted book of reference. There are about 2 billion christians in the world. Most christians believe that it is true word of God. The Bible itself claims it's writers were inspired by God. Some verses were even written by God himself. The Bible was written over time by different authors.

The Bible is also the most quoted book in history.

The Bible scrolls contained prophesies and laws issued by God to the Israelites. Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible, which are Genesis,Numbers,Exodus, Leviticus and Deuteronomy. Apostle Paul is known to have written most of the New Testament of the Bible.

The book of Leviticus 19:27-28 says "Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD"

God orders his people not to cut the hair at the sides of their head. The Bible therefore prohibits the hairstyles where people cut the hair on the sides of their head. The hairstyles are popular but they are not right and it is a sin.

The Bible also prohibits the clipping of the edges of your beards. People often clip there beards to look good but it is a sin.

The Bible is also very categorical about drawing of tattoos. Actually it says "don't put tattoo marks on your body" . These were the practices of the polytheists and God didn't want his people to adopt the those cultures.
