Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga has today paid a long and emotional tribute to Reverend Purity Gathoni Wachira at Solio Village 3, Laikipia East sub-county during her interment according to a Facebook post on his page.
Gathoni who died at the age of 67 years was the wife to Bishop Charles Wachira of Victors Chapel, Chaka Branch. Kahiga wrote that the late was a virtuous wife and mother who served her family with a lot of dedication. He described her as trustworthy, compassionate, sharp and fearless.
“The late devoted her life to serving God in many capacities in her life. She was an influential leader who many strived to emulate,” the governor wrote. He added that Gathoni will therefore be remembered for transforming other people’s lives so that they can live better.
She leaves behind six children namely Bishop Dr. William Wachira, Rev. Cyrus Kiambi, Rev. Adam Wagithu, Carol Wanjiru, Evaline Wanjiku and Gloria Gathoni.
The Nyeri county boss was also accompanied by other leaders including Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, Nyeri Women Rep Rahab Mukami, Naivasha MP Jane Kihara and Equity bank officer Polycarp Igathe.
