Funeral Of Former Pope Benedict XVI

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI was announced dead on the 31st of December at the age of 95 and his funeral took place at St.Peter's square in Vatican. He was a world's renowned theologian and the 265th Pope of the Roman Catholic church. Pope Benedict XVI was the first pope in 600 years to resign from his office in 2013. After his resignation from his duties, he went ahead to continue keeping his white cassock.

Crowds of people arrived at the Vatican from as early as 4:00 am as Pope Francis was delivering the Homily. About 200,000 people paid homage during the Pope's lying in the state.
