DP Ruto Angers Kenyans After Saying This About Leaders Who Recently Started Going to Church

Our Deputy President William Ruto is one of the Kenyan leaders who always go to church on Saturdays to worship with the Seventh Day Adventists and Sundays.

Today he joined congregants at the AIPCA St Lorent Angaine Church in Timau, Buuri Constituency Meru County for a thanks giving service.

In his speech, he told the congregants that he was aware of the church's order that says politicians should have respect in church. He agreed with the bishops saying that people should avoid bringing political conflicts on the altar.

As he was concluding his speech he said, "I have been a determined person when it comes to going to church. Most leaders were known as people who rarely go to church but they have started going because they have seen my persistence and how God has continued helping me. They have realised that God is everything."

"I'm requesting you church leaders not to chase these people because maybe that is how they will know the word of God. I would like to ask you, if it wasn't my influence would they have gone to church? I have brought them to church so please don't send them away. Instead preach for them to get saved and go to heaven." He added

Some Kenyans on the internet were not pleased with his speach and did not keep calm about it. They thought he was attacking Raila because he was recently seen in a Korino Church being prayed for.

Below are their reactions:
