"Be ye separate"
2 Corinthians 6:17
A Christian in the world, should not be of the world. He must be separated from it by the greatest thing in his life. For him, "life" must be Christ. Whether he eats or drinks or whatever he does, he should do it all for the glory of God. You can accumulate wealth; but let your wealth be stored in heaven where no rust can damage it, where thieves will not break or steal it. You can try to get rich, but let your desire be "rich in faith" and do good work.
You can enjoy; but when you rejoice, sing psalms and sing in your heart to the Lord. You must be different from the world in spirit and purpose. If you are willing to wait humbly in God's presence, know His existence, enjoy His fellowship, and know His will, you will prove that you are of a heavenly race. You must be separated from the world in your actions. If something is right, it should be done even if you lose; if it is wrong, even if you win, you must hate sin for your sake.
You should not associate with the unfruitful work of darkness but condemn them. Walk worthy of your high calling and dignity. O Christian, do not forget that you are the son of the King of kings, our Beloved. So keep yourself from the world. Not the fingers that soon sweep the sky; Let these eyes not be the windows of longings that will soon see the King in his beauty - do not soiled feet in the wet where they will soon walk on the golden path - do not this heart full of pride and bitterness! Too long to fill heaven and fill it with good joy.
O my soul, get up! and fly away. Above the mindless crowd and pleasures of gay. Rise to where eternal beauty blooms and of endless glory.
