Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua said after President William Ruto’s victory in the election, he wanted to go to Mt Kenya but they had to first send preachers to Nyeri before Ruto went there.
Gachagua said they sent preachers to Sagana State Lodge in Nyeri where Ruto was to hold a meeting so that the preachers could consecrate the area.
Gachagua claimed that the Sagana State Lodge was being used by their political opponents during the campaign season to attack them.
Speaking during a church service at Jesus Winner Ministry in Roysambu, the DP said the Lodge was full of hatred, bitterness and alcohol and before President Ruto made his first trip there, they had to dedicate Sagana Lodge to God.
Gachagua told the congregants before sending the preachers who included Bishop Edward Mwai from the Jesus Winner Ministry, he claimed he first sent the preachers to the office of the deputy president in Annex.
“Before I entered into my office at Harambee Annex, Bishop Mwai and other Bishops came and prayed over that office and I received blessings for that office,” said Gachagua.
“The next week because we wanted to go to the mountain with the President at Sagana State Lodge, we again called Bishop Mwai and other preachers to go there because that place was filled with hatred, threats and alcohol. They went to Sagana State Lodge and prayed and then we were ready to take the President so he can start working from there,” added Gachagua.
