Is It A Sin To Cremate Your Departed Family Member? Here Is What The Book Genesis 3:19 Say

We have seen many people cremating their departed loved ones according to the will they wrote. This is where a question comes, is it a sin to cremate your departed loved one? Does the bible forbid or favor cremation?.

Let's start with what Christians say about cremation. Christians do not believe in cremation as they see it as it goes against God. John 19:40-42 the Bible says, "Then they took the body of Jesus and wound it on linen clothes with the spices as the manner of Jews is to bury. Now in the place where is was crucified there was a garden and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man laid yet. There they laid Jesus therefore because of the jews' preparation day for the sepulchre was nigh at hand."

Traditional, Christians believe that during the resurrection or rapture or during the second coming of Jesus Christ, cremated bodies may be ineligible for resurrection. Let's see what the book of Genesis 3:19 say.

Genesis 3:19, "In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou and unto dust shalt thou return." This means that burying a dead body is the standard way of disposing the dead body. Additionally, cremation in the Bible was taken as more of punishment than honour where the criminals were stoned to death and then cremated.
