7 Signs You Could Be Having The Gift Of Prophecy

One of God's most potent gifts to man is prophecy. It's a Holy Spirit-given gift.

To put it another way, a prophet is a seer who can see into the future and predict events long before they happen.

The gift is one of the most valuable since it is in high demand, and many people are always interested in their future and what is likely to happen, making a prophet such a significant character. Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, and other prophets are among the most important figures in the Bible. Jesus was also a prophet, but because He was God's son, He was more than that.

God revealed to Jeremiah that he had known him before he was born and that he had appointed him as a prophet to the nations when he was called. As a result, someone may be called to be a prophet years before they are born. How can one tell if they have a prophetic gifting or not? It's an indication that you've been called to be a prophet if these things affect you.

1. A positive gut reaction

Do you have a strong gut instinct that you can rely on most of the time? You have a feeling something terrible is about to happen. When you get the unpleasant feeling that something terrible is about to happen, you could be doing something completely unrelated, and it does. This is a definite indication that God is calling you to be a prophet.

2. Nightmares that happen on a regular basis

Dreaming is extremely common, and almost everyone, if not everyone, will dream at least once in their lives. Do you ever wake up and wonder how something you dreamed about become a reality? Whoever offers men dreams is a good person. Make a note of what you're dreaming about if you have a habit of doing so, and pray if something horrible is about to happen. If you make it a habit to read the Bible, you will have a great understanding of how to interpret dreams.

3. You should aspire to be holy.

Romans 12 encourages us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, rather than adhering to the patterns of this world. Are you making an effort to meet God's holiness standards, and is this your top priority? When circumstances encourage you to compromise, you cherish following out God's will and make every effort not to sin against Him.

God-centeredness is number four.

You can give anything for God, and some people may think you're too religious in some ways. Because you love God, you desire to develop a close relationship with Him.

5. You are employed as a negotiator.

Is it true that you enjoy praying for individuals and that those who haven't yet been born again hold a special place in your heart? Every time you pray, you have a burden to pray for the nation and its leaders. The fact that you do so may indicate that you have a prophetic calling. Prophets serve as intermediaries between God and man.

6. You devote a lot of time to prayer.

Are you someone who enjoys spending time in the presence of God for long periods of time? You cannot be content by praying for a short period of time, and you may find yourself praying for hours on end. Prophets in both the Old and New Testaments were known to pray for long periods of time.

7. An intense desire to know what will happen next.

Do you have a deep desire to walk in the anointing of the prophet? After seeing other men of God prophesy, it makes you want to be able to do the same. This is God's sign that you're supposed to follow in his footsteps. God is the wellspring of desire, so if you keep walking in God's footsteps, everything will work out.
