Bible Teachings on Dead Beat Fathers

Family is the first social institution responsible for the socialization of a child into the cultures and ways of that particular society. Universally, a family consists of father, mother and children. However, some dynamics change in the ever-evolving world. For some reason, things have never worked perfectly, and we all know at least one deadbeat father. The term 'dead-beat father' is a pejorative term used by child support advocacy groups, rather than by Governmental Child Support agencies.

A dead-beat dad is a father who neglects his parental responsibilities to the extent of evading, even court-ordered child support obligations or custody arrangements. This means that the child's father has to be taken to court, for him to fulfil his responsibilities to that child. These dead-beat fathers leave their families in an extreme poverty, even if they own alot of wealth.

The Bible in the book of 1Timothy 5:8, it says; "But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than unbeliever."From this verse, any dad who doesn't provide for his family is rated worse than non-beliver. According to this verse, dead-beat fathers are not encourage at all.
