The body of the deceased has been transferred to Lifecare Hospital in Bungoma for preservation as the church leadership lays plans to bury him.

Before Father Wanyonyi’s demise, he has been serving as the parish priest at Christ the King Cathedral in Bungoma.

Leaders led by Khalaba ward MCA Majimbo Okumu have eulogized him as a God’s servant who united Christians in the church.

Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi who is also a church member said that the death of Father Wanyonyi is a big blow to the cathedral adding that Wanyonyi has done an impressive job in developing Christ the King Cathedral.
