The Real Reason Why Muslims Don't Eat Pork

The Quran prohibits the consumption of pork.

This is evident in various verses including: 2:173, 5:3, 6:145 and 16:115.

Al-'An`ām 6:145 says;

"I do not find within that which was revealed to me [anything] forbidden to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal or blood spilled out or the flesh of swine - for indeed, it is impure - or it be [that slaughtered in] disobedience, dedicated to other than Allah"

A Muslim submits to Allah's commands willingly, without needing to know the reason behind the divine rule.

Furthermore, Allah has expressly stated that a believer hears the words of his Lord and obeys them.

Obedience to Allah (God) in Quran is one of the core objective of human beings who so ever receives his messages in this world .

Allah has given His wisdom and conditions of exceptions in application.

So why is pork really haraam(forbidden)?

Well, pork is haraam(forbidden) due to the fact that the animal, pig is a really dirty and unclean animal.

In Islam, according to a Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad, cleanliness is half of our faith. If a muslim is not clean and eats unclean food, then he will also be unclean from the inside thus violating the Hadith “Cleanliness is half of our faith”.
