On November 25, 2020, Kameme FM radio presenter Benson Gathungu alias Muthee Kiengei Wa Watoria was ordained to be a pastor.

The popular comedian was elevated to the position of a parish minister under the African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (AIPCA) Gatundu Township Headquarters.

Now, on Thursday August 18, 2022, Kiengei, popularly known as Pastor Ben, announced he has been transferred from Gatundu Diocese to AIPCA Kibia Church in Githunguri Town, Kiambu county.

In a Facebook post, Pastor Ben bade his Gatundu congregation goodbye saying he was looking forward to continue serving God and impacting lives through charity in his new work station.

"In my two years of Service to Gatundu Diocese, I have served well, right and faithfully. I thank God for the impact and the change experienced through my Service as the in-charge," he said.

Kiengei's ordination was criticised by a section of netizens who opined it was against Christianity since he is a polygamous relationship.

Keziah Kariuki, a musician and former Kameme TV presenter, is the radio presenter's first wife while the second one is a business lady by the name Ashley Mugure.

But Kiengei told his critics off saying by becoming a priest he was fulfilling his mother's dream adding no one will stop him from walking in that direction.

“To my friends, if you are happy about my new path please keep me in your prayers and to those who carry a contrary opinion, please it’s not about you, this is not about pleasing but service, everyone makes a decision according to the former paths or the current appeal… Please bear with my family’s decision to serve,” he said.
