Bishop Gikagui Macharia while speaking at AIPCA Kenol Church has made controversial remarks during a church service which was attended by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Kenya Kwanza leaders. The bishop said that the AIPCA church owes a lot to President William Ruto for helping the church overcome challenges. He stated that during the former administration, the church was in court now and then. The bishop said that he can now speak freely because the current administration cares about the church.
"Those days, I call them dark days, I could not talk freely the way I'm talking because I would be summoned in court. The church was always in court. We were in captivity for many years. We now understand that freedom is here with us because no court will come for us." the bishop stated.
