Psalm 18: 31 -34
For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.
He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
In 1 Samuel 17:32-49, when David Saw that the philistine giant Goliath was abousing the Israelites and that the israelite army was trembling with fear before him,he came forward boldly saying "Let no man's heart fail him on account of Goliath.I will go and fight against this philistine".
David was a young man of extra ordinary courage and at this point,he was the only Israelite in the battlefield with courage.Where did he get this extra ordinary courage?David's courage grew out of his understanding of God.David is a "man after God's own heart".
He knew the heart of God and this comes through an understanding of God through His word. David knew not only historically-the way God delivered Israel in the past-but also personally through his experience.
David was young and was given the duty of caring for a few sheep of his father Jesee;this prepared him to fight against Goliath.
David saw what all other Israel soldiers saw in the battlefield;but the difference was that David viewed that circumstance as amazingly similar to the situations he had faced victoriously as shepherd boy.
How are you viewing the situation you are facing today?View it with victorious eyes.David was not worried about facing Goliath because he trusted God who rescued him from the lion and the bear would rescue him from the hand of Goliath.
Sometimes we expect God to bring about the defeat of our enemies by some unusual spectacular means,;but we should remember that God can deliver His people anyway He chooses.
In the case of Goliath, God chose the young David, his sling. Let us be encouraged.Any weapon however small it is if it comes from God. If you believe so leave a comment and share. Have a victorious day.
